For Jaret there is nothing unusual about this picture, or the picture that constantly permeates his nap time dreams of him standing on a podium in some far off land. At the tender age of four, Kristi Overton Johnson took to the waters of North Carolina’s Pamlico River, oblivious to the path her life would take as a professional water skier and the platform that water skiing would provide for Kristi to share her passions, her heart and her struggles. From her first experience skimming across the river’s mirror-like water, Kristi was hooked and silently vowed to push herself to new limits every time she stepped off the dock. The result was a thirty year competitive water ski career in which Kristi captured every water ski title attainable....including World, World Cup, Masters, and US Open Championships. Although retired from professional competition, Kristi still maintains the title of world record holder, a title she has claimed for over 14 years. |
